Repair Chemically Damaged Dry Hair

Our hair is made up of dead skin cells which is why during a haircut, you do not feel any pain. However, that doesn’t mean you can do as you please with your hair; it still can be damaged. In the process of changing your hair colour, the dye has to break through your hair’s natural protection, the cuticle, to get into the hair shaft. The ammonia contained in the dye raises the cuticle, allowing the peroxide to bleach out your natural hair colour. Finally, the colouring component comes in and does its job. Post colouring, the hair structure is no longer what it used to be and the cuticle is almost always damaged permanently in the process. In addition, overheating from styling tools such as the hair iron, curlers or blow dryers can cause damage to your hair resulting in split-ends and brittle hair.
